The Oregon Coast Digital Center is located in the quiet community of Cape Meares, just outside Tillamook, Oregon and about 70 miles due west of Portland. The facility itself is within walking distance of the Pacific Ocean which makes it great for beachcombing.

The seven mile stretch of pristine beach sits nestled between the majestic cape and the Garibaldi jetty. This is a great place to relax between lecture sessions and enjoy the wonders of nature.

Oregon Sights to See
Just minutes away from the Oregon Coast Digital Center you can find the Cape Meares Lighthouse. This is Oregon's shortest lighthouse and guided mariners along the Oregon coast from 1890 until 1963 when it was decommissioned. Lighthouse enthusiasts can climb the 25 steps to see the Fresenel lens or shop at the interpretive gift shop.
The Tillamook Cheese Factory is one of Oregon's most visited tourist attractions. Located about 10 miles from the Oregon Coast Digital Center, visitors get a first hand view of the cheese making process and even free cheese samples. Be aware that it is almost impossible to resist purchasing an ice cream cone.
This former World War II blimp hanger now houses the Tillamook Air Museum. It features one of the finest collections of privately owned WWII flying aircraft in the country. It is also listed in the Guinness Book of Records as the largest wooden clear-span structure in the world.

Travel
The Oregon Coast Digital Center is located on the Pacific coast about 70 miles due west of Portland, Oregon. It is about a twof hour drive from Portland International Airport (PDX). You should arrange to have your flight arrive on the first day of class between 10am and 2pm if possible. We will have a representative of the Oregon Coast Digital Center meet your plane and escort you to the Digital Center. It is about an hour and a half drive through beautiful countryside. On your departure day, we will all meet for breakfast and then those departing via plane will be escorted to the airport. It is best if you arrnge your departure time for noon or later to allow adequate travel time.
Located just 10 miles from downtown Tillamook, the Oregon Coast Digital Center is walking distance to the Pacific Ocean, Cape Meares Lake and the Tillamook Bay.
